The traditions of slack key music and Hawaiian culture come together Sunday, January 19th at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center for the 7th Annual Southern California Slack Key Festival. One of the most acclaimed Hawaiian concerts to ever leave the islands, this year´s Slack Key Fest takes fans on a Hawaiian musical journey that showcases Grammy nominated slack key artists, an Island Marketplace, and a VIP Meet & Greet at PS ZASK ART GALLERY on the Peninsula the night before the performance.

The 7th Annual Southern California Slack Key Festival celebrates the music from the GRAMMYnominated soundtrack from The Descendants, the first major motion picture to feature slack key music exclusively in its soundtrack. Many of the artists from the recording will appear in the festival, including Cyril Pahinui, Jeff Peterson, Jerry Santos and Sonny & Lorna Lim. Rounding out the 2014 artist lineup:,Jim “Kimo” West and Kaumakaiwa Kanaka ole.
