  As you walk along Tram Road, along the part that borders Crenshaw Blvd. you will notice a stand of 19 extremely large trees. These are our Moreton Bay fig trees – otherwise known as the Banyan grove.  These trees were planted in the late 1960’s as a wind-break from wind and noise coming from Crenshaw. Today they are recognized as the largest collection of fig trees.
