6-Man Weekend!!
Arguably the biggest weekend besides the 4th of July in the South Bay, the International Surf Festival returns to Manhattan Beach this weekend. Located just south of the MB pier, the "6-man" Volleyball Tournament is definitely the highlight with teams of (obviously) 6 people playing a round-robin format. It is an Open format, so Weekend Warrior players commonly go up against AVP professionals with sometimes hilarious results. A surfing contest, sand castle building, bodysurfing and other events round out the festivities for both days of the weekend. An insider tip: to reserve a table at Shellback Tavern for the day, you literally need to get there at 9 a.m. Click here for more info. |

Hermosa Sharkeez Open
The Hermosa Beach location of Sharkeez opened with a bang last week, and we haven't seen such excitement over a "new" establishment as long as any of us can remember. Literally every day since their opening, there has been a monstrous line to get in. The interior is really nice and plush, the bathrooms are now upstairs, and it feels like a different world than the old Aloha Sharkeez (for better or worse). Click here for more info....
