Swell Magnet Surf Forecast

Thursday morning looks like more of the same, so hopefully we'll be able to scratch a couple waves out without going elbow to elbow at the points to the North. The best spots will remain in the waist high plus zone. The conditions should be fine for the morning and we're supposed to see the sun come up again. We'll see light onshore winds at 2-3 early and those will jump up to 14 MPH in the afternoon. The high air temp will be 73 degrees

Friday morning is shaping up to be more of a South swell day as the NW energy withers away to mere boat wake status. The South facing beaches will see some small, but long period energy roll in from a fairly liberal angle of 210 degrees, and that should be good for waist high plus sets at the top spots. It should be a nice day though, so even if it's inconsistent it might be enjoyable. The conditions should be pretty good at first light with winds out of the East at 2-3 early and those will top out at 13 MPH in the afternoon. The high air temp will be 73 degrees

Saturday morning may have a little more pep in it's step as the SW energy tops out with slightly more consistent, waist high plus sets. Spots like San O' and the OC may do slightly better, but I wouldn't burn any gas to get down there. The conditions should be clean with light SE winds at 2-4 early and those will get up to 9-12 MPH in the afternoon. The high air temp will be 72 degrees

Sunday morning looks like a snoozer as all energy fads into the abyss. Look for remnant, inconsistent blips out of the South and tiny background swell out of the NW. The conditions look good again with offshore winds at 4-5 early and those will hit 12 MPH mark in the afternoon. The high air temp will be 73 degrees The current water temps are as follows - Newport 62 degrees, Huntington 62 degrees, the South Bay showed as 66 degrees, Santa Monica 64 degrees and Malibu 59 degrees.
