Swell Magnet Surf Forecast

Thursday morning should be another fun day for waves as the energy slowly starts to back down through the day. Chest to shoulder high sets will be the norm, but the best breaks will see larger sets pop up every now and then.

For Friday morning things will continue to wind down. Same, sad, slow, South swell death scenario. We'll see inconsistent chest high sets as the energy moves into a hospice and and begins it's fade into the afterlife. There wil still be some fun sets, but you'll have to wait for them. The conditions look okay, with light, SW winds at 2-4 early and those will hit 12 MPH in the afternoon. The high air temp will be 70 degrees

For Saturday morning we'll be left with very inconsistent, waist high plus sets, as the swell continues to peter out. There will be a little something left to ride at the top spots, but there's a good chance you may doze off in between sets. The conditions will continue down the same road with winds out of the SW at 2-4 MPH early, and those will hit 12 MPH mark in the afternoon. The high air temp will be 70 degrees

For Sunday morning that last swell will be all but gone, and some fresh, southerly swell will fill in and put the exposed South facing beaches into the waist high plus zone. This will come in at a steeper angle and be a bit more selective about which beaches it visits. The conditions look fair with light onshore winds out of the SW at 2-4 early and those will get up to 14 MPH in the afternoon. The high air temp will be 69 degrees.

* I was out in the South Bay this morning and although the formal water temp reading is 67, it felt much closer to 60. It was pretty frickin chilly....

The current water temps are as follows - Newport 67 degrees, Huntington 67 degrees, the South Bay showed as 67 degrees, Santa Monica 69 degrees and Malibu 62 degrees.
