Swell Magnet Surf ForecastIs the grass finally getting greener? By the looks of things, we should finally have some waves again as early as Friday.Thursday morning looks like more of the same, probably even a little weaker. The most exposed South facing breaks will be in the knee to waist high range. The tides change very little, so what you see is what you get. If the marine layer doesn't ambush us it should be a nice morning. On Friday morning we'll finally start to see some fresh swell show up throughout the day. I don't anticipate the morning session to be anything too dynamic, but the swell will be on the rise. This energy is coming in at 190-200 degree angle, with long intervals. The South facing points and reefs should do best with chest to shoulder high sets by sundown. A sheltered Point or feef may merit an afternoon visit, if you want to get a jump on things. By Saturday morning things should be in full swing with the top spots in OC and San O' seeing some shoulder to head high plus sets. More average spots will see fun surf in the chest to shoulder high zone. Once again, the longer interval swells will favor the points and reefs so be ready to do battle with the weekend warriors! Sunday morning should have a little more size as reinforcement energy fills in through the day. The top spots will see surf in the shoulder high to overhead zone. The tides shouldn't have any adverse effect, with a nice push through the early morning. The points and reefs should be firing, too bad it's a weekend. With the severe surf starvation that's been taking place as of late, I am anticipating a carnage laden weekend at any spot that's working. Drive defensively! This is M.D., the Surf Dr., delivering more hollow promises. FOR ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES on the S.B.E. Newsletter as well as on the site, please contact us today at bizops@southbayevents.com |

COYOTE CANTINA
One of the best-kept secrets in the South Bay is the Coyote Cantina in Redondo Beach. Don't let the mundane strip-mall setting fool you: once inside, it feels like you've stepped into a cantina in the middle of Oaxaca.
The food menu is amazing, with varied offerings such as the Brie and Mango Quesadilla and Turkey Jalapeno Enchiladas. Plus, with over 60 of the world's best tequilas to choose from, you'll never be bored by the vast selection.
