Swell Magnet Surf ForecastWednesday, (the first day of Fall), morning looks a little smaller, but most of the models are calling for waist to chest high, short interval swell for the better West facing breaks. A few models are favoring slightly larger waves than that, but I'm leaning toward chest high as the best case scenario. The Santa Barbara channel is slated to pick up some steam again and bow at 26-30 MPH for a good clip of time. That will help out the West facing breaks for one more day on Thursday morning.Thursday morning looks a little smaller, and will be more dependant upon the local NW wind swell, but still, most of the models are calling for waist to chest high, (or better), swell for the better West facing breaks. The Santa Barbara channel will be a non factor and the weather should begin to warm into the weekend. By Friday morning we won't have much left on the bone with only scraps left. Look for small, background swell in the knee to waist high zone for the top spots. The conditions look fair again with winds out of the NNE at 5-6 MPH for the morning and mild winds for the remainder of the day. For Saturday morning we're expecting surf in the knee to waist high range for the better West facing breaks. It should be a gorgeous day but decent surf just doesn't appear to be in the cards. On Sunday morning we'll remain in the knee to waist high zone with small background swell and sporadic pulses of new swell out of the SW. The conditions look great as we continue to to see some nice fall weather. We'll have light winds out of the NE at 3-4 MPH early and clean conditions. Afternoon breezes will get up to 8 MPH and the air temp will hit the 77 degree mark. This is M.D., the Surf Dr., delivering more hollow promises. FOR ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES on the S.B.E.
