Swell Magnet Surf Forecast

Thursday, looks to decrease more as all of the energy peters out through the day. The top spots should see waist high plus sets at the right tide. In order to enjoy any measure of success, you'll have to tip toe around a monster tide of 6.45 feet at 9:13AM. It might not even be rideable at most spots in the AM, but all that water will drain out to a minus tide through the day.

By Friday morning there will be pretty much nothing left to ride. A lack of swell, coupled with ridiculous high tides will cripple most all spots. The conditions look pretty crappy any way, with onshore winds at 4-6 MPH right off the bat, and those will get up to 10-14 MPH in the afternoon. The air temp will top out at 67 degrees.

Saturday and Sunday are looking pretty bleak. There's really nothing worth mentioning as far as swell goes. There's a pretty good tide push through the early morning, which could manufacture a couple waves, but that's my glass 1/2 full side talking. The conditions should be great with winds out of the N/NE at 6-8 MPH until around 11AM and onshore's at 10-12 MPH in the afternoon. Both days should be in the mid 70's on the sand.

The Current Water Temps are as follows - Newport 65 degrees, Huntington 64 degrees, the South Bay showed as 67 degrees, Santa Monica 62 degrees and Malibu 64 degrees.

The Young Dubliners go full to the gills with a stop at Brixton this Friday night. The Dubs are like traveling Irish nomads who consistently balance their Celtic and rock influences to produce a raucous but folksy live show. These lads play a range of Irish Epics, from ballad to barn burner, to edgy political tunes that are infused with the travails of life in an internationally touring band.

The Young Dubliners will be playing songs from their most recent album Saints and Sinners. Beginning with the raucous title track, Saints and Sinners continues in the spirit of that dual mindset as the Dubs mix free-wheeling party rockers like HOWAYA GIRLS and the vocal harmony-laden jam BACKSEAT DRIVER with anthemic and politically charged tunes like the 80s vibing THIS TIME.

2010 Taste of the Pier: Saturday, October 9th & Subday, October 10
Tastings: noon to 4:00 pm & Music: Noon to 6:00 pm at Redondo Beach Pier

The Redondo Beach Pier Association invites the South Bay to its 2010 Taste of the Pier this Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 6:00 pm at the one and only Redondo Beach Pier. With the puchase of a $10.00 ticket (cash only) at Brixton you get a chance to explore and sample a variety of small bites, live music, and live performers that will include a stilt walker, clowns, a balloon twister, a face painter and more.

This event is in support of the following charitable organizations: The Wellnes Community, Meals on Wheels Association of America, and The Surfrider Foundation. Playing host to this charitable event will be some local musicians. On Saturday tasters will enjoy sounds from the likes of: Happy Tongue, Michael S.G., Phillip Clark, and Michael Paul Morgan and the Rogues. Sunday's line-up of musicians will include: Kara Turner Band, Evyn Charles, Andy Walo Trio, and Darryl Mansfield.

Located just a few minutes away from Los Angeles International (LAX) airport, the Redondo Beach Pier offers a variety of oceanfront dining, entertainment and shopping choices for all ages. CREME DE LA CREPE
S.B.E.'S RESTAURANT OF THE MONTH: SEPTEMBER

This charming bistro offers crepes along with a variety of French-style cuisine.
