Swell Magnet Surf Forecast

Thursday morning most exposed breaks should see sets that are head high to overhead at most spots and the most exposed West facing breaks may go DOH and then some.Not sure what the beach breaks have going in terms of sand bars, but chances are we'll see quite a few closeouts. A point, reef or more sheltered spot will be the call.

Friday the energy will be backing down through the day, but the top West facing breaks will continue to dish up head high to well overhead sets.

Saturday morning the surf will continue to fade, but the morning session should be good for at least one last hurrah. Top spots should deliver sets in the waist to shoulder high zone. I'll have to see how quickly the swell loses steam, but with good tides and winds it should be fun.

Sunday is looking to be on the small side with inconsistent sets in the waist high plus range for the best breaks. The weather looks great and all other variables are leaning in our favor so it might be a nice morning just to get wet.

The Current Water Temps are as follows - Newport 55 degrees, Huntington 58 degrees, the South Bay showed as 55 degrees, Santa Monica 55 degrees and Malibu 54 degrees.

HERMOSA BEACH SNOW FEST: Saturday, December 11, 2010 - 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Snowfall accumulations of 1 to 2 feet are expected this Saturday in the vicinity of Hermosa Beach & Pier Avenue. In fact, 30 tons of snow will be dumped on the slope of Pier Avenue as it will be transformed into a legitimate snowboard park. Old Man Winter, Spyder, Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce, Mammoth Mountain, and many others have come together to keep the holiday spirit alive this year by staging a spectacular winter event in Hermosa Beach.

Get a seat out on one of the patios and take in a Best Trick Contest as pro snowboarders and local amateurs huck themselves off Mt. Hermosa. Then stick around for some holiday spirit with the Christmas Tree lighting. From 6:30-8 pm, there will be PUBLIC sledding! Don't miss this one...
