Swell Magnet Surf ForecastThursday morning will see a significant jump in wave size, as the top West facing breaks go well overhead. The more sheltered, Southerly exposed beaches, will wallow in the knee to waist high plus zone. Unfortunately, the increase in swell will be accompanied by stiff, 10-20 MPH, onshore winds, right out of the gate and throughout the day. Crummy conditions, accompanied by another round of toxic runoff will make surfing a less than appealing activity.By Friday morning, New Years Eve, that wind powered swell will be a mere fraction of what it was the day before. The top West facing breaks will plummet into the chest to shoulder high range, but the winds and conditions should improve dramatically. Unfortunately, Saturday morning, New Years Day, looks to get the short end of the stick. With no significant swell in the que, we'll be left with only waist high plus, leftover wind swell for the best spots. Too bad because the conditions look flawless all day long. Sunday morning looks to be no better with only minor background energy coming into play. Once again, we're not anticipating much more that waist high plus surf for the best breaks. This is M.D., the Surf Dr., delivering more hollow promises. FOR ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES on the S.B.E. Newsletter as well as on the site, please contact us today at bizops@southbayevents.com |
