Swell Magnet Surf Forecast

Thursday morningwill see a temporary dip in size but tide permitting, the top West facing spots should continue to dish up shoulder to head high plus sets. Also entering the mix will be some new pulses from the SW. An out of season swell will move up the line from a fairly liberal angle of 190-210 degrees and help to keep the South facing breaks in the game.


By Friday morning, holds promise as some fresh, longer interval, NW energy fills in though the day. The top West facing spots should start out chest to shoulder high for the AM session and see well overhead sets by sundown. The Sw energy will get a bit more consistent and should put the good South facing breaks into the waist to chest high zone. Some of the combo spots may conjure up some nice A-Frames.


Saturday morning, things will begin to slowly wind down but the best breaks should have no shortage of swell. Look for top spots to go shoulder to head high plus. There should even be some sporadic pulses out of the South so it'll definitely be worth a check.


Sunday morning ooks a hair smaller with chest to shoulder high waves for the top spots. Tides and conditions should be good so plan on another fun day of waves. The conditions look great on paper again with stiff winds out of the NE/NNE at 6-8 MPH until around 1:00PM. At that point breezes are to turn WNW, but remain light for the remainder of the afternoon. It looks like we'll see cloudy skies and an air temp of 60 degrees.

It's a Dead Man's Party this Saturday night at Brixton as the one and only Oingo Boingo tribute band sets the stage for a night of nostalgia and Boingo. DMP has been re-creating the Boingo sound for over a decade now and plays all your favorte Oingo songs through an 8-piece band that has a stellar horn section you're sure to recognize.

It's Halloween all over again at Brixton when DMP rocks the internationally known "Dead Man's Party" and you can probably finish the rest of the song.

BOUZY GASTROPUB
S.B.E.'S RESTAURANT OF THE MONTH: JANUARY

You know that bar on the corner that serves up tasty microbrews, seasonal wines and an array of pub food that blends sophistication and comfort? Well, all neighborhoods should be equipped with such an establishment and it so happens that nestled in the heart of Redondo Beach’s Riviera Village there is such a place. The Bouzy [boo-zee] Gastropub pairs French, American, and Asian food fare with an ever-changing assortment of off-brand, organic cocktails, microbrews, and wines that culminate in an authentic, local pub experience brought to you by the owners of Chez Melange.

The Bouzy Gastropub took shape when Chez Melange moved out of the Palos Verdes Inn on Pacific Coast Highway and into to its current location on 1611 South Catalina Avenue over three years ago. The entrance to Bouzy sits right in front of Chez Melange. The atmosphere here has a relaxed, smoky-wooded décor with comfortable bar stools, tables, booths and an attentive staff ready to serve you. The Menu is long and two-sided, one side for libations and the other for food, so you may need a second to digest all Bouzy has to offer.

The menu is never the same and is consistently refreshed with new & seasonal snacks, burgers, sandwiches, and beverages, pre-dominantly of the alcoholic sort. You can share a plate of chicken liver or hand-cut french fries with truffles and a pint of Old Speckled Hen, one of England’s finest craft beers. If you’re in the mood for a lager, try Iron City Beer in a bottle or sip on a locally brewed pale ale from The Strand Brewing Co., you might even get to drink a beer that’s been brewed in bourbon soaked barrels. The real treat though comes in burger form at Bouzy.

The Chez Burger and the Pancho Burger are hands down some of the tastiest burgers in the South Bay. You might need a knife and fork to tackle these miraculous creations as their stacked high and the Pancho Burger comes with a chile relleno. Head on down to Bouzy soon and experience your local, neighborhood Gastropub.
