Swell Magnet Surf ForecastOn Thursday morning we'll see some sizeable waves with the standout breaks going head high to well overhead. Unfortunately it looks as if onshore winds from Wednesday may leave us with some lumpy, textured surf and if it does indeed rain, well, you know the drill by now.The conditions have a thin sliver of hope of being okay. Today the wind models I checked were calling for variable breezes at 3-6 MPH early and then the onshore's will whip up 15 MPH in the afternoon. If I was a betting man, I'd keep my chips in my pocket. We also have a 20% chance of rain. The air temp will remain a frigid 60 degrees. By Friday morning looks a bit more interesting as the swell dips into the head high to overhead range for top spots and another round of tumultuous weather rumbles into town. The conditions might be okay for beaches that can handle a SE/SSE wind. Models are calling for blustery 10-25 MPH winds until around 1:00PM. From there the breezes should back down through the late afternoon. We also have a 70% chance of rain and an air temp of 62 degrees. On Saturday morning we'll still have some leftover waves in the chest high plus zone, but we'll once again be at the mercy of the winds as it pertains to conditions. The conditions are supposed to be variable winds, from no dominant direction, at 4-10 MPH through the morning and into the afternoon. We have a 90% chance of rain and the air temp will head South of 60 degrees. Sunday Morning hould see waist high plus surf for the top spots. There's not really much ground swell out there, so we'll have to keep an eye on the winds to see what they'll kick up for us. This is M.D., the Surf Dr., delivering more hollow promises.
