Fiesta Hermosa and Memorial Day 2010 in the South Bay

 There are few places in the world that kick off the summer better than Hermosa Beach, California! The long Memorial Day Weekend hits May 29-31, 2010. The South Bay's 3-day party is centered in Hermosa Beach, and the city swells with thousands of extra people. Running daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the summer vibe officially begins now in the South Bay. This is the 38th Annual Fiesta Hermosa, known as Southern California's largest Arts & Crafts Festival with over 270 vendors last year. Of course, many people bypass the booths on Hermosa Avenue and head straight to the Beer & Wine Garden! The proceeds all go to charity, so in case you overdo it there will be a silver lining.

There are two stages with quality bands playing live music throughout the weekend- one at the foot of Hermosa Pier and another in the Beer & Wine Garden. The crowd is always fired up, and dancing is highly encouraged.

Gilby Clarke of Guns N Roses: Friday, May 28, 2010 - Saturday, May 29, 2010 - 7:00pm - Close

Okay, this guy Gilby Clarke was in Guns N’ Roses. He also played guitar for the MC5 , Nancy Sinatra, Heart and now Rockstar: Supernova. He twiddled production knobs for internationally lauded, tumbledown punks The Bronx, LA Guns & Alice Cooper. More importantly, he’s made a bunch of records that rock ’n’ roll purists the world over treasure and occasionally argue about. If that ain’t a cache of cred, than what is?

As a singer, guitarist and songwriter he’s an old-school mash-up of Keef, Johnny Thunders, and B.B. King.

Clarke will be performing at Brixton South Bay with The Bourbon Saints this Friday, May 29!
