The Redondo Beach Police Department is proud to announce their first annual King of the Harbor Skateboard Championships. This FREE event will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Redondo Beach Pier – Octagon area next to basin 3 and the boardwalk, from 11:00 am to 3pm. All levels of skaters between the ages 8 to 18 are invited to participate and compete.
Professional skater and local celebrity “Wee Man” Jason Acuna will be there to skate, judge, sign autographs and present awards.
Skaters can register online at www.redondo.org/police . Waivers must be signed by parents or legal guardians for skaters under 18 years of age and helmets are required. All registered participants will receive a free T-shirt. It will be a fun day with time for free skating before the competition, awards, food, music, and lots of other cool stuff all provided for FREE courtesy of our sponsors.
Promoting safety and building a positive relationship between local skateboarders and the Police Department is the main focus of this event. Our partnerships with several local businesses and the Redondo Beach Police Foundation has allowed for the Police Department to organize this unique outreach event.
